Best Poker Hand Ever!
What is the best hand in Texas Holdem you ever got?
It has to be a hand in a game where you were playing for real money; I have been dealt straight flushes a couple of times, but sadly only while playing free money games online.
The best poker hand I ever got dealt in a real game is four of a kind, specifically four tens. It happened when I was playing in a casino, and the astounding thing is I was dealt both hands within forty minutes of each other. Both hands I was dealt pocket tens; it wasn’t a situation where three tens were on the board and I had the fourth.
I’ll never forget the dealer, his name was Dave, and I made a lot of money those hands. I was lucky, because there were others in each hand who also had big hands, though not as big as four of a kind. The first guy had a full house and was supremely confident he had the best hand. I took all of his money. The second time I got the four tens shortly thereafter I was going against another guy who had a full boat. Though he was a bit smarter and I only took most of his money, not all of it.
The four of a kinds were flowing so easily that day, I thought it would be a routine occurrence. But sadly it’s not, and we should cherish those poker hands when we receive them.
