Current precise Global Positioning System measurements made on the 17-18th September have recorded that Mont Blanc amounts to 4810.9 metres. Mont Blanc is layered by a deep ice-cap which has grown by 2.15 meters in only two yrs but more suprisingly the bulk of the snow and ice has virtually doubled .
