Salford Real Estate Market Set to Boom with New Development Plans

The face of Central Salford is set to change, if the City Council approves plans for a housing and commercial development project in the city.

The ambitious development is the size of 21 football fields, consisting of over 24,000 sq meters of active use space, 864 homes, 390 hotel rooms and a mind-boggling 197,000 sq meters of office space. The creation of this layout would certainly lead to the rejuvenation of Central Salford.

Commenting on the proposed layout, Chris Farrow, the chief executive officer of Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company said that the idea behind the development was to bring a range of diversified industries to Sanford by offering a host of facilities. Farrow added that the main aim of the project was to mix the historical and natural assets of the area with new quality homes to build on the principles of industries already present in the area.

The layout of the development is such that the commercial quarter comes up in the area east of Quays, near the Sanford railway station. The area is likely to have a hotel aimed at business travellers. The development is also likely to include a pedestrian bridge across the river Irwell, which will allow for easy access in to Spinningfields.

The commercial buildings will be located next to the Manchester city centre between the river Irwell on the south and Trinity Way on the north of the development. The commercial quarter is expected to have a number of office buildings catering for a variety of needs such as conference and hot desk facilities (click for deskspace info), a large car park and retail or commercial grounds.
