Unlimited Fun
Our spouses call us the terrible twins in jest but it is true that when we make up our minds to do something or go somewhere nothing can stop us. After a busy and successful holiday season when we did roaring business at our little exclusive boutique, we were both ready for a long vacation in the Caribbean. We had heard about several couples-only resorts in Jamaica and decided to make reservations at the Sandals Whitehouse European Village and Spa, which was highly recommended by friends who’d been there earlier. We promised ourselves that we would relax on the beach and unwind with a soothing massage at the spa while our spouses checked out the other amenities offered. We noticed that their conversation centered around the Beringer wines, rum tasting, and the exotic cocktails served as part of the ‘unlimited drinks’ at the restaurants and bars .
We got the first taste of the hospitality at the resort when they presented us with cool towels and a glass of champagne as our spouses filled out the check-in details. Our guys were joking that perhaps the champagne was also part of the unlimited drinks offered before we dragged them off to our rooms. Our bags were brought up no sooner had we reached our rooms. It was nice to find the fridges in the rooms stocked with juices and beer as we had requested. While we girls settled down for a short siesta, the guys went down to the bar lured by the “unlimited drinks“. Whether it was the beach, the babes on the beach, or the open-air beach bar, we would never know but they were both in great humor when we went down to meet them in the bar after an hour or so. I must say that we were impressed by the variety of food offered at the resort’s seven restaurants – from Asian to Italian, we could dine on a different cuisine every day of the week and the unlimited drinks included juices at breakfast, sodas and cocktails during the day, and select wines with dinner.
We had a whale of a time trying windsurfing, water skiing, and hydrobikes during the day, and serene walks along the lovely beach at sunset. At the Red Lane Spa, we had a West Indian massage and we enjoyed it so much that we convinced our husbands to go with us the next day for a session of “In each other’s hands.”
