3 Claims to Deliver MiFi Service at Accessible and Affordable Prices

MiFi, the new mobile wireless broadband service from 3 UK, is about to hit the market. The project was announced in August this year, but people of the UK will have to wait till September 17 to get access to it, when it will be launched online and in the tele-market. September 18 will also see the package hit the local markets.

According to Marc Allera, Sales and Marketing Director at 3 UK, this is an attempt to bring the next level of development in broadband services to the customers at an affordable price. This new technology works without any additional software and needs only a wireless modem and a SIM card. It also allows mobile phones and netbooks to build their own network with five wireless users. Wireless-compatible devices will pick up WiFi signals allowing users to transfer data.

The new technology is not very expensive either. A three months’ subscription comes along with a 3 GB usage limit and wireless modem for 99.99 pounds, under the ‘Ready to Go’ scheme. A regular monthly connection for more data usage is available under the name ‘Broadband 5GB 1 month’ plan. This package carries a modem for 69.99 pounds and allows a data transfer of 5 GB every month. The monthly rental for this plan is 15 pounds.

Considering the widespread need for mobile internet, Allera believes that MiFi will be a hit Christmas gift in 2009. This is probably a strong reason for the company to launch the service now, when Christmas is only two and a half months away.
