The change that helped the style come into use was more fun figures like dancing iguanas, howling coyotes, playful kokopelis. The colors also changed to aqua and teals.

Contemporary Design is sleek that focuses on form and line rather than lots of details and informal comfort. A feeling of peacefullness comes from modern spaces because of their sparse elements and the muted decorations. Color schemes are soothing and simple, white and black are common with accents of intense colors to direct the eye. You want a sense of solidity between light and dark which is peaceful. Fabrics without texture like cottons, velvets, leathers are frequently used. a lot of metallic surfaces are used as they embody the serene calm of contemporary Decorating.
