Maintaining a Tight Image
Keeping a tight image isn’t difficult if you make an effort to do so-besides being a good idea when you’re dealt a lot of bad starter poker online hands, a series of consecutive folds will keep your image tight in your online poker opponent’s eyes. You can solidify that tight image when you have decent starting cards by playing them exactly as you would when stealing a blind, and showing them whether you get to the showdown or not. If you’re getting a bunch of crummy casino cards, fold often. It’s a good idea regardless, and your opponents will read this as tightness. By being selective with your bluffs, only doing so when you’re in the late position and it’s just you and the blinds, or the table limps in, you can usually space out your pot steals enough so that your opponents won’t peg you as a pot stealer. To really convince your opponents that you don’t bluff, show your good hands. If you get Ace-King suited, play it, and make sure your opponents see it. Even if you don’t go to showdown, show how good your cards are when you fold. If your opponents start to associate you with folding everything but face cards, they won’t hesitate to fold when you bluff.
